Request for Workshop Proposal
Deadline: February 28, 2022 (Korea Standard Time, UTC +9)
Workshops are scheduled on May 7 (Sat.), 2022 during ASCC 2022 as half-day (3 hrs, recommended) or full day (5-6 hrs) talks. Proposals for workshops (PFW) addressing novel control-related (directly or indirectly) topics, as well as workshops with strong tutorial value are encouraged from academia, research institutes and industry.
PFW should include (i) the organizer information (name, affiliation, title, etc.) and speaker information (name, affiliation, title, etc.; The organizer can be the only speaker), (ii) workshop topic (title), and (iii) workshop abstract (at least 100 words).
If workshop proposals are received more than time and space limitations, the ASCC 2022 Organizing Committee will have the right to select them. Workshop attendance requires a separate registration payment (Regular US$100, Student US$50). After deducting the expenses, registration fee will be shared half and half by ACA and the organizer. The workshop organizer can speak alone or invite other experts. The workshops will be offered based on viable attendance (more than 10 advanced on-line registrants; For other cases, the organizer can discuss with ASCC 2022 organizing committee about opening it). Accepted workshops will be presented on-line (using Zoom) or on-site according to the COVID-19 situation.
Please send PFW to Workshop Chair, Prof. Chul-Goo Kang (cgkang@konkuk.ac.kr). If you have any question on workshops of ASCC 2022, feel free to ask Prof. Kang or Secretary of ASCC2022 (secretary@ascc2022.org)
ASCC 2022 Workshops
ASCC 2022 offers two half-day workshops on May 7 (Sat) addressing current and future topics in control systems by experts from academia and research institutes. Workshop #1 is hybrid (Board room 3 and Zoom together) and the workshop # 2 is fully on-line using Zoom. All workshop participants are required to register (Regular US$100 or ₩110,000, Student US$50 or ₩55,000) through Online Registration site before April 8, 2022, or at on-site until the noon of May 6 (Fri). The workshops will be opened based on viable attendance. ASCC 2022 reserves the right to cancel non-viable workshops. In the event of a cancellation, the workshop fees will be refunded in full. Questions can be directed to the Workshop Chair, Professor Chul-Goo Kang (cgkang@konkuk.ac.kr)
Workshop #1. Control of Soft Wearable Robots
Date: May 7, 2022 (Sat.) 9:00 am -12:00 pm (3 hr)
Place: Hybrid (Board Room III and Zoom)
Organized by Prof. Kyu-Jin Cho (SNU, Korea), Dr. Sang-Yoep Lee (SNU, Korea)
Abstract: The increasing capabilities of soft wearable robots for various human locomotions have paved the way for more sophisticated and individualized control strategies. In response to this opportunity, recent studies on the control of soft wearable robots have considered the problem of how to involve complex human dynamics in the perspective of robot control. In this workshop, we aim to bring together engineers to discuss these important topics and identify ways to develop the next generation of soft wearable robots by gathering leading researchers working on control of such systems.
Schedule:
9:00 – 9:10 | Introduction of the Workshop by Prof. Kyu-Jin Cho (SNU, Korea) and Dr. Sang-Yoep Lee (SNU, Korea)
9:10 – 9:40 | “Human-in-the-loop optimization of gait parameters with an exoskeleton”, by Prof. Myunghee Kim (Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, University of Illinois Chicago, USA)
